How to convert FLAC to MP3 for everyday listening
Use this FLAC to MP3 converter when a player does not accept FLAC or you need a portable copy. Start at 192 kbps, or try 256 or 320 kbps and compare by listening. This is a format conversion tool, not a music library manager: filenames are kept, but album, artist, and artwork information is not.
- FLAC input
- The included FLAC recording is supported. File size is limited to 100 MB, or 25 MB on touch devices.

Listen to a real FLAC to MP3 example
This short, synthetic recording says: “The meeting starts at nine. Please bring your notes.” The result below was made with this tool. Compare the sound and size, or try the sample above with your own settings.
MP3 is larger in this short speech example. This is not a music-quality benchmark or a promise of smaller files. Keep the FLAC original; MP3 is lossy. These sizes describe this sample only. Duration, source audio, format, and settings change your result; a smaller file is not a measure of better sound.
FLAC to MP3 questions
Is FLAC to MP3 a lossless conversion?
No. FLAC can retain audio without lossy compression; MP3 cannot. Even at 320 kbps, MP3 is still lossy. Use a lossless output such as WAV when you need it, and check the bit depth and sample rate required by your project.
Will album covers and music tags be preserved?
No. This FLAC to MP3 converter removes artwork and metadata such as artist, album, and track number. The download keeps the original base filename. Use a converter with tag preservation if library information is essential.
Can I batch convert a whole FLAC album?
Select up to 10 files and convert them sequentially, then download individual MP3 files or one ZIP containing the finished results. There is no folder input. For a large library that needs folders and tags retained, use a music library conversion app.
Does a high-resolution FLAC keep its original sample rate?
MP3 output defaults to 44.1 kHz and offers 16, 22.05, 44.1, and 48 kHz. A higher-rate FLAC is resampled to the selected rate. Keep the source FLAC when you need its original resolution.
Can I convert several files at once?
Add up to 10 files. They are processed one after another, and you can download each finished result or save the batch in one ZIP. Each file can be up to 100 MB, or 25 MB on touch devices. Use a computer for larger recordings.
Where is my download, and what happens to the original?
Choose Download beside a finished file. Look in your browser’s Downloads or the Files app on your phone; some browsers offer a sharing menu. The original is unchanged. Results are kept only in this tab, so download them before refreshing or leaving.
