# AudioConvert

> AudioConvert offers free audio conversion, audio extraction from saved videos, and short-recording transcription in your browser. No account is required, and selected audio and video files are processed on your device without uploading them to a processing server.

Audio conversion supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A/AAC, and OGG/Vorbis output. Add up to 10 files, processed one at a time, and download finished results separately or in one ZIP. Each file can be up to 100 MB, or 25 MB on touch devices. Compatibility depends on the file's encoding; protected or damaged files may not work. WAV output is uncompressed 16-bit PCM. Conversion does not restore lost quality, remove noise, or preserve music tags and cover art.

Video conversion reads a file saved on your device and extracts its first audio track. It does not download videos from YouTube or other links, select alternate audio tracks, or trim clips.

Audio and video transcription accepts saved files up to five minutes and 25 MB. It produces an editable plain-text draft and approximate editable subtitle cues for TXT, SRT, and VTT export. Video transcription uses the first audio track. Supported language choices are English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, and Arabic. Review words and cue timing against the original. Speaker labels, translation, and meeting summaries are not provided.

Processing resources are downloaded when you start a tool; transcription also downloads a speech model from Hugging Face. An internet connection is needed for initial resource downloads. Results remain in the current tab, so download or copy them before refreshing or leaving. See the privacy policy for resource requests, caching, and support information.
